new 3d card. Video playback probs

Hi all

Having recently got a Geforce FX 5200, which seems to be working great for games, I have found that video playback no longer seems to work properly. The colours all seem off and a bit fuzzy.

I installed the latest Nvidia drivers when I got the card, so I'm not sure what I should do now.

Any suggestions?

That could very well be a driver issue as I've had the same problem. This driver works for me very well, give it a try if you have XP.

If that happens to be the driver you are using, try a different one.

Thanks for the quick reply, but that didn't seem to resolve the issue. I already had the up to date drivers, and followed the link and re-installed them. It still didn't help.

Any other suggestions?

First go into add remove programmes and uninstall the Nvidia entry.

Then go HERE and download the Drivercleaner programme.

Read the instructions, then run the cab cleaner first, followed by the driver cleaner for Nvidia.

Once done reboot your system, and let windows install the generic vga driver.

Now go to the Nvidia website and download, and install the 61.77 version drivers. These are known to be very stable.http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_61.77.html
