New build help

Hey guys, need some help. Just built a gaming comp and i'm having problems with boot up. When i start it up I get a high pitched squill coming from the video card. I take the video card out and the squill goes away but the computer shut's completely down after 1 minute. Here's what i have.

XFX 680i LT sli mobo
4gb ocz PC2-6400 800mhz sli
8800 gts 640mb
580 watt psu

basically everything is brand new but a 160 gb hard drive i pulled out of an emachine's lol.

I guess the video card has a problem , but neverless I take it out and the machine's shut's down. All the fan's, led's vid card fan work fine. Maybe a short somewhere? I'm stumped

Sounds like the power to the Video card is not working
Obviously the power cord is plugged in and secure ?

Check for domed capictors if everything is tight... I had one awhile back and it did the same thing but not all the time. I took it out and saw that one of the caps were domed and then the next day the top of it blew out...
