New HDD

Okay, so I just bought a new 500g hard drive and installed it and everything went well. All of the contents of the first hard drive were copied to the new one, I was just wondering if I could set the second hard drive to be my main hard drive and format the original one. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Depends how the data was copied to the new one. If it was done with one of the utilities to clone a drive, then most likely yes. If its an ide drive you'd need to put the jumper to master (if it was slave). If its sata then it just select that to be the boot drive in the bios.

If you just copied the data in explorer (Windows), then no, it won't work.
