I am new to this forum and like to say hello to everyone here
Hello justnoww and welcome to Techspot.
Regards Howard
Its good to be with you all and as a newbie I hope I don't upset anyone with my cloddhopper feet.
As I am here I might as well ask for help.
Whilst I know a good bit about computing and the innards of a PC as it were, I cannot understand my latest problem.
I have a network card that is supposed to be 100/10 mg only it is only working at 10. The PC is part of a pere-to-pere system and I have set the PC up to take advantage of ADSL modem share accross the system.
Carefully following the information (from Web sources) I find that I can log onto the web using the gateway with the 192.168.000.1 as the IP for the gateway, but the rest of the ptp is unavailable to the PC.
I have set up the DNS using 192.168.000.1 and obtain an IP address automatically. Why this card is responding differenly I do not know because they are all identical cards on the other 9 PC's.
Where am I going wrong? Can anyone help?
