New monitor LCD

Im thinknig of getting an lcd monitor, a 19" widescreen but i dont know to much about these

im thinkig ill need to get one with less then a 5ms responce time and scan support a 1600x 1240 resiloution

now what im wondernig is if i need dvi output or not

im using an x800gt that i hope will hold me over till dx 10 or i can get a n x1800xt when they drop a little more in price

now i want this to last for atlest 4 years and it needs to be under $210

You don't need it but it will help with response times because there is no analog to digital conversion. Either way you hook it up will work.

what i mean is will dvi be required for the futre cards to support higher resiloution

Well if you want it to last long into vista, you need to get one with a hd tuner in. There aren't many on the market. Currently Gateway has the best one out and it is also the best monitor for gamming.

Just get a cheap ati/nvidia card and they have hd support (output).
