New MSI Mobo, no posting or beeping

  1. Just upgraded my system since I wanted to go to a 939 cpu from a 754. I got a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum 939 to replace the MSI K8N Neo Platinum 754 board I was using. Also new psu, Aspire ATX 500W and a new vid ATI AIW X800XT. So one could understand I was excited to get this puppy up and running. ;)

Once I got every thing together, I plugged in the monitor to fire it up and check the BIOS settings. Everything powered on, but no screen, no posting and no beeping from the board.

Tried my old vid card to see it what was a problem. Nothing. (Nothing means it powers up but no beep or posting)

Tried a different monitor in VGA hook up. Nothing.

    Tried old power supply. Nothing.

Put in old board to test both psu's, and that worked still. Tried new one again, nothing.

So I'm going to assume it's either a bum board or a bum cpu. Question is, is there any way to test to see which is which? (Not being patient, I have already ordered a new board to check that possibilty.)

Id say its the board. Its rare to get a bad CPU and they will usually give a beep code.
