New here, so I really don't know if this is the right forum to post this.

Here's my problem - I have SOMETHING going on with my comp. My homepage has been hijacked, and, I used the CW Shredder in the past to fix this, but it's not working this time. I've used spybot and adware, and they haven't helped either.

here's my Hijack this log.

Besides the pop ups and the homepage problem, there are other oddities. For starters, my computer seems to "stick" (or take a long break) when I try to access my control panel from the start menu. Secondly, and this is really strange, it seems to take FOREVER to shut down. I'm talking about a couple of minutes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot.

Your process lists shows many useless and very suspicious programs. So does the startup programs list.
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\HPZTSB04.EXE and C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\A.EXE should set anyones alarm bells ringing.

All i can suggest is another spyware scan with latest updates (you did update your software before scanning), a thorough virus scan with latest updates and at least two scanners. And a very critical look at startup programs.

I've been told that the "hpztsbo4.exe" is actually a program running from my Hewlett Packard Desk Jet.

I have no clue what the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\A.EXE is, but I'll check it out.

The HP is legit, I know from having battled HP and their random #$%(*$#% file names before.

The A.exe makes me curious. I also see NkvMon.exe , C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\idctup20.exe, C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DP-HIM.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Bdka1zT9.exe and c:\program files\support.com\client\lserver\server.vbs .....

Those files I'm not familiar with, but that doesn't mean jack squat. Do your research before trashing them. If I had to guess, the nkvmon has the best chance of being legit.

Have you tried Trend Microsystem's online virus scanner? Might be worth a shot..

Thanks for the reply. You're right, the NkvMon.exe is a program that runs on start up. It is the transfer program my Nikon digital camera uses to transfer its pictures onto my computer.
