nexus 8gb google android smartphone lg nexus 4

Google has dropped the price of the Nexus 4 by 25% or more in a range of markets, making the phone even more affordable than it was before. Now available unlocked and SIM-free for $199 and $249 respectively, the 16 GB and 8 GB Nexus 4 models have both received a price cut of $100.

The UK also sees similar cuts, with both models dropping by £80, meaning you can now pick up an 8 GB model for £159 and a 16 GB model for £199. The discounts also apply to Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Spain and South Korea, according to the Google Play Twitter account, so head to your local Play Store to pick up the device at the all-new price.

Packing a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, 2 GB of RAM and a 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 IPS LCD display, the phone is still reasonably powerful by today's standards, but the new pricing makes it an unbeatable deal. $199 is usually the sort of outright pricing reserved for entry-level phones, but the Nexus 4 complete with stock Android is no low-end device.

The Nexus 4 is nearing its one year anniversary, having been announced on October 29, 2012 at a special event that also saw the introduction of the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets. The device, manufactured by LG, is the newest smartphone in the Nexus line, although recent rumors indicate Motorola might be developing a successor for release later this year. Google has yet to confirm anything surrounding a 'Nexus 5', but expect to see more information closer to October, the traditional launch month for Nexus devices.

Good price, been using it since it was launched and very happy with it overall. Great value for money.
Now if only they'd make the charging orb available for purchase in the UK!

Good enough phone and fast enough on T-Mobile. Problem is spotty coverage with T-Mobile. Sometimes it is great, with good enough speed, but in some areas no data or no coverage. I am thinking of changing to AT&T some day to get coverage and speed, so the phone an I must part ways. I hear that AT&T + Google phone is slower, though I could look into it again later on down the road. I bet the next Google phone has LTE. Who knows the future, with lower priced iPhone C and possibly apps for WP8 some day, I may have other choices.

Wow.. Nexus 4 was already one of the best(if not the best) smartphone for it's price. Having it at a $100 discount is really a bargain one can't say no.

At the price tag I don't even bothered about LTE support or non-expandable memory. Gotta get one..

Glad to see you've switched your allegiance from the Motorola Razr you always liked to brag about.

Always fancied that Razr Maxx with the huge battery but this made more sense. Still would like a bigger battery but the Nexus 4 plus Wireless charging pad mean I've usually got some juice in it when I'm going somewhere :)

I have this for the original price and I'm very happy with it. 25% off is simply amazing and really makes mid-range phones obsolete.
