I was just wondering about that a few days ago, been thinking of buying one for my son for christmas and wondered whether to go ahead and pick it up or wait to see if the price would drop.

The worrying thing of the Gamecube is longetivity and long-run titles support IMO... not like it's not worth buying, but I'd still prefer a PS2 nowadays, even if it's lacking in the graphics area.
