my audio doesnt work.. when i go to volume control, it says that there's no active mixer device available. ive been using the same computer for months and the audio works just fine and now it doesnt. ive reinstalled window xp and still nothing. sound driver is nowhere to be found (which is realtek AC97 audio) and its not listed on the "sound, video and game controller" caterogy in device manager.. though audio Codecs, Legacy audio drivers, Legacy video capure divice, media control device..etc are listed but no AC97 audio.
things ive tried:
1. reinstalled the sound driver.
2. update driver
3. system restore
4. checked BIOS and AC97 audio is in auto
i dont know what else to try, so please help..
