No boot in a Asus K8V SE with Athlon 64. Please, HELP !!

Hi guys

I am a beginner in building computer. I have just bought a Athlon 64 3000+ and Asus K8V SE Deluxe Mobo, whint 512 MB DDR 400, a Connect 3D RAdeon 9200 SE with 128 MB, AGP 8x (64 bit) , a Maxtor 120 GB SATA HDD.

I have put everything in the case, and double check conections. I switch on the computer, the screen show the K8V logo, and then nothing. If press <Del> when booting, the screen showme the memory test, show 512 MB OK, detect the mouse, then do nothing, no beep no voice. Then I can´t run the setup BIOS, the <F8> key do nothing.

Please help me. Any idea will be wellcome .

To run the BIOS setup, you have to press the "Del" or "Delete" key at startup.
Check that it finds your HD and CDrom.
Set the boot-sequence as: first floppy, if you have one, then CDrom, then Harddisk.
Next, partition your HD in 20GB and 100GB, format both partitions in NTFS for Win-2000 or Win-XP, set the first 20GB partition as active.
Then install Windows on the first 20GB partition.
Only then will F8 function to e.g. start in safe mode.
