i KNOW IT'S A NOOB QUESTION, BUT...I'M STUCK

I'VE JUST PUT TOGETHER A COMPUTER FROM BITS & PIECES BASED ON AN INTEL CA810E MOBO. FRESH INSTALL OF M.E.

THE SAME BOARD, WITH NO ADDED CARDS USED TO PLAY OLDER GAMES SUCH AS "DRIVER" NO WORRIES. NOW THERES THE "NO COMPATABLE 3D DEVICES" ERROR WHEN I TRY AND CONFIGURE "DRIVER".

i'VE INSTALLED THE LATEST GRAPHIC DRIVERS FOR THIS BOARD, DX9.0B AND I'M STUCK.

ANY IDEAS - APART FROM THROW IT OUT?

First answer would be to TAKE YOUR CAPSLOCK OFF.

DX9.0B may be your problem. Some games, such as Grand Prix 4, report errors when launched against a specific version of DirectX, even if it is higher than the one required.

Also, an Intel i810 is ancient. The 3D acceleration on it is, well, useless. A cheapo Radeon card (under 50 dollars/euros) would be a useful upgrade (assuming you have a proper AGP slot, my 815 board did but it was, argh, low profile only)

I know it's ancient, but not as ancient as the computer it's replacing! I built it for my bro. I'll try the dx version that comes on the DRIVER cd.

Thanks guys
