No display at startup

I have a six-year old computer running off a Asus P4PE motherboard. Just recently, it crashed on me, and when I started it back up, I got the error message, "System failed start-up test due to CPU overclocking". Now, there is no display at start-up, and no beeps. The graphics card is fine, and I even went as far as to clear the CMOS to no avail. My gut is telling me it's a fried processor, but I was wondering if there was anything I wasn't thinking of before going ahead and getting a new one. Any help would be appreciated.

I think it is the CPU. Try replacing it and see what happens. If that doesnt work then there might be a problem with the motherboard.
