No folders in explorer menu

Hi,
OK my problem isn't exactly life threatening, just annoying
In any menus on my computer there are no little pictures beside the shortcuts. eg. in explorer-the folder menu at the side only has words. It also happens in Nero and the Favorites menu. Makes getting around a bit more difficult because you don't know if your clicking on a folder or just a shortcut. Its driving me mad!

XP +service pack1
had a look at folder options but nothing sprung out.

A simple restart might correct the problem.

Look for a file called ShellIconCache, I think it is located under the Windows directoy. Remove it (the file, not the directory ).

well.......removing the directory would remove the annoying problem too.........HEHE

this did happen cos i tried to remove the directory! I was playing around with linux and now with a fresh install of xp...
deleting the file didnt work but I couldn't find ShellIconCache just Iconcache. I suppose theyre the same things!
