No list in add remove programmes and problems with my D drive.

Hi..

I have two problems
(at lease computer wise)

1.When I start add/remove programs it says the list is being populated but doesnt show anything

2.when i try to open my d drive it says the disk is not formatted and asks if i want to format it..I really need the info saved on it and i hope it isnt lost...

Hey..Im not that much of a computer guinious..so I hope im right..but basically i have c, d, then e and f (the cd rom and burner) and i sometimes connect my mp3, which appears as h...hope that answers the question
