I am VERY new to troubleshooting my own system, so please be patient with me...
Recently had multiple XP Home problems that required re-installation. After which I began recieving:
"LIMITED VIRTUAL MEMORY - YOUR SYSTEM HAS NO PAGEFILE OR THE PAGEFILE IS TOO SMALL"
My sysinfo before reloading XP showed:
Avail. Physical Memory 214 MB
Total Virtual Memory 1.72 GB
Available Virtual Memory 1.22 GB
Page File Space 1.22 GB
Pagefile C:\pagefile.sys
NOW my sysinfo shows:
Avail. Physical Memory 226 MB
Total Virtual Memory 994 MB
Available Virtual Memory 482 MB
Page File Space 482 MB
And NO pagefile location listed
Have tried every adjustment in the Virtual Memory Properties, the changes take effect but pagefile is still non existant. Have also tried most all fixes from this site as well, still nothing.
Microsoft Site suggests reintallation of Chipset 845 driver as a possible fix, is this safe ?
Any help would be appreciated...
