No sound from capture devices

Hi Techspot members,
I am having the usual no sound BUT on capture devices. I have no sound on a dvd maker when converting VHS to DVD. I get visuals but no sound. Have tried uninstalling, reinstalling software - nothing. Looking for new software for it, again nothing. Worked fine a few months back but now sound is silent - as too with

Cyberlink's YOUCAM - no sound. My AMCAP camera constantly comes up in safe mode and visuals on Youcam and AMCAP are fuzzy and poor - was always clear- I dunno. My main concern is the lack of sound on these capture devices. Can anyone help? When doing an MSinfo32 probelm devices were:

They're all by Microsoft, and it still can't find drivers? Odd

My sound is REALTEK HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO

I'll try the bios rememdy, but I don't think it will work. I'm at my wit's end with this. I know things get corrupted and changed but trying to fix them is a time consuming headache. I'm beginning to think it's a windows glitch. Why windows cannot leave drivers that have always worked fine alone is beyond me. I did diagnostic dxdiag and it tells me no problems - yet I know their are. My system is Windows Vista Premium running on a MEDION Notebook MIM 2300. If anyone can help I would be most grateful. Cheers!
