I have a thunder k8we and dual opteron 280 workstation with vista 64 business.
The onboard sound was fine until today. Now there is no sound.
The device NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio Codec Interface is listed in the device manager, all drivers are up to date. I have entered all the input sound device settings and checked they are all set to enable, and all have volume raised. DXdiag indicates no issues. If I open the audio mixer and play a video/mp3 or anything involving sound, the green equalizer raises and lowers indicating the flow of the sound.
There appears to be nothing wrong but there is no sound at all. Checked all cables etc. I have disabled, enabled and reinstalled the driver (after uninstalling and deleting).
The only thing I have done is run hyper pi, which temporarily disables vista sounds and themes (I don't think it is responsible, clutching at straws).
Can anyone help at all?
