after installing some codecs i do not get any sound while playing dvds regardless of the player i use, i tried uninstalling the codecs and installing new ones but it doesnt work. any ideas?

Audio in DVDs doesn't usually require any special codec, the players should be able to play them fine. Maybe the audio is set to go to soundcard's S/PDIF connector?

check the sounds goin 2 the right place (ur output the speakers r connected 2) then check ur speakers are on!!! (ud b suprised how many times ppl aint turned on their speakers)

if all else fails, make sure the dvds rnt tryin 2 play an unsupported codec, like some players will try to play the best quality sound and may not support it!

    ne other woes just holler!

you need to check to see if the dvd drive is set to digital playback, otherwise you need to connect it to the sound card with an analogue cable.

    somethin else to try :grinthumb
