No soundcard detected...but there is!

There's a soundcard but my PC can't detect it, even in device manager - i've looked through it all.

Its a Realtek AC97 one that's onboard. The thing is that I've disabled it in a previous XP install, but just reinstalled without re-enabling it again.

Now it doesn't detect a soundcard at all and I've installed the latest Realtek AC97 drivers anyway and STILL it doesn't detect.

Any ideas how to force it to recognise an onboard soundcard????

Hi

Have you looked in the BIOS to ensure that the onboard sound is enabled ??
