No sounds on DVD playback

I am pulling my hair out.

I have sound in all shapes and forms EXCEPT on dvd playback. The thing is, it use to work. I could slap a DVD in the machine and it would take off in Windows MP 11.

Now...

I installed divX a couple weeks ago to view some .m2x file... I have uninstalled it thinking that might help the situation but to no avail.

Has DivX taken over my machine with weird codecs? Help!

you may need a plugin or a codec. you could also try 'VLC' to play it on.

I figured it out... DivX hijacked one of my DVD decoders for whatever reason.
I reinstalled my orginial DVD player software and it works again.
