Non fatal error dialog when expanding C drive in Windows Explorer XP

Anyone know how to stop this? I get this every time I to to expand "my computer" or the C drive in the Folder view of Windows Explorer (XP):

    dialog box title: CONNECT ERROR
dialog box text: unable to connect TransportManagerClnt::Connect

Untimately it does not prevent me from expanding the files or working in Windows Explorer, but it is delaying the process time by about 30 seconds and I worry that something darker is going on behind the scenes

    registry may be corrupt.

run norton systemworks registry repair 2003 or earlier to fix
or repair your windows with the install CD

You can't run chkdsk to fix because you can't access "my computer" to get to it!
bummer (that would have been the easy solution)

    Was able to run chkdsk

Actually, I was able to run that second program just fine. It came up, said something about F Parameters and opening as read only. Then it went through 3 short sets of some diagnostics, said it was restoring some files then ended. However, I am still having the same issue as before. SOUNDED good though!
