Norton Live Updates

I made the mistake of deleteing Norton Live Updates while it was downloading updates. Now I have it's icon permanently in my taskbard and can't stop the download.

How can I stop the download and remove the icon?

Maybe uninstalling, then reinstalling Norton would work.

IMHO I would get rid of Norton altogether, and use the free AVG antivirus software, and one of the free firewalls from either Zonealarm, or sygate.

If you do this, you will probably find that your system runs quicker, as Norton is known to be a real resource hog.
