Not getting Good Framerates

Hello.. guys i have a Slight problem with my computer that i had it custom built..

My frame rates are VERY low...

In Farcry when i have Everything on VERY HIGH and water on Ultra high i get framrates of about 31 and drops down to 17..at 1024x768

In call of duty 2 it drops down to 15 but tries to stay at 32.... 1027x768

In battlefield to its mostly stuck on 35 and drops down to 19....1027x768

These are the things i did to fix them

1.. Formatted my Harddrive and Reinstalled Windows (Twice)
2.. Updated the Latest Drivers from ATI Cat 5.11 and nvidia chipset 6.70
3.. Checked my Transfer rates between the Harddrive and the cpu they are 100 mbps and 133 mbps which is perfect..
4.. Overclocked my X800XL card from 398/982 to 445/1100
5.. Ran Spybot to see if there are any Spywares..none found


I get a Score of 5140 in 3D mark 05
and 10435 in 3Dmark 03...i know these are pretty less for my rig..

my cpu tests are very very low... i dont know why
i got 60.2 in TEST 1 ---- Wings of Fury
i got 9.2 in Test 2---- Troll's Lair

Any Other suggestions you guys would like to give I'd really appreciete it...

Here's my results in 3Dmark05 for you to compare to (as we have similar level computers)

Athlon64 3700 SanDiego
6800GT 256Mb
1Gb PC3200 generic
A8N-SLI deluxe

3DMark Score 4955
Game tests:
GT1 - 31.9 fps
GT2 - 14.2 fps
GT3 - 24.6 fps

CPU Score 5108
CPU test 1 2.7 fps
CPU test 2 4.3 fps

Hmm, my system is very similar to you both as well. I've not run 3DMark yet although I've dled it, but not installed it. Will do tonight.

For me in COD2 (great game btw), I get 40-60 FPS 1072X768, 2AA, 2AF and even into the high 70's if the frame is quite. This is after doing a little research and found this site: http://www.tweakguides.com/COD2_1.html.
Follow the link to the guy talking about a bug in COD2 and download his autoexec.cfg file , it works. Not sure if the map restart thing really does much for me though. (you'll know what I mean when u read it). Definately increase your com_hunkmegs to 512.
Edit: PS, did you run GameXP, it turns off alot of unneccesary Windows crap. Also turn off any active antivirsus while you're gaming. If I'm on-line gaming I usually even turn off the Firewall. Then immmediately turn it back on when done.

my online games run fine... i get about 38 to 70 ping... like 70 is max i get in bf2..

DonNagual thats a really low score for ur card... you should be getting about 6000 in 3d mark 05

You think so? It is an ASUS EN6800GT 256mb. Asus is fairly reliable for vid cards, so I know it isn't some cheap knockoff.

Are you comparing my scores to people who have OCd? My numbers are all at default, nothing OCc. I know I could get much higher scores, but the thing is, I am quite happy with my framerates on the games I play. If I start feeling slow performance, I'll OC it sometime down the road.

Ok I guess I completely misunderstood this as general probs with FPS, in both/either/and/or multiplayer/single player mode, never mind.
