Hello

As my name implies, I am a true novice when it comes to computers and networking. I recently bought a Netgear 108 Mbps Super Wireless ADSL Router (DG834GT) which is connected to my phone line. In order to access the internet from my notebook, I also purchased a Netgear 108 Mbps USB 2.0 Adapter (WG111T). The connection itself works well, however the Wireless Connection icon on the system tray states that the speed is 54 Mbps. I would have expected 108 Mbps since my notebook is placed next to the router. Have I been sold a 54 Mbps instead of a 108 Mbps adapter? Thanks for your help.

You have to explicitly enable the 108Mbit mode both on the router and the wireless adapter.
