NOT Hijacked, but I cannot install/uninstall

Pls help - I cannot install and uninstall any programs at all for months now. Thank goodness for finding this site.
I read your instructions from another post RealBlackStuff and have posted my hijacklog here - pls let me know what to do next.

From this thread https://www.techspot.com/vb/topic32288.html I learn't what I could. So from the hijack program I deleted all 016 - DBF entries under safe boot and with system restore off.

Thats all i could do - not sure on the other entries although 017 looks kinda shady aswell.

It`s good that you`ve fixed all the 016dpf entries.

Let HJT fix the following as well.

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{B29C9304-8873-4EDA-B3CB-59633BF95CE3}: NameServer = 196.4.160.2,196.23.50.3 Only fix this entry if it`s nothing to do with your ISP.

Hi Howard

I fixed all the entries you mentioned including the 017 - not sure if its my isp.
I re-booted and everything is loading very slow. I still cannot install or uninstall any programs.

Maybe this line is also a problem: Let me know if I shud delete it.

EDIT: Actually I put 017 in the ignore list so can probably get it back if I need to.

That 09 entry is fine.

I can`t see anything else in your HJT log that looks bad.

Are you running two antivirus programmes at the same time?

If so uninstall one of them, as this will make you system run slowly.

Delete all temporary internet files including off line content, as well as cookies.

Run chkdsk /f and then a disk clean up, followed by a defrag.

Yeah I just installed norton to see if it would help now I can't uninstall it no matter what I do.

I have deleted all offline content and temp files and cookies.

How do I run chkdsk /f pls? I know disk cleanup and defrag will try that later.

But I think I have a bigger problem than all this for a very long time now.

To run a chkdsk. Click start run and type chkdsk /f (note the space between the chkdsk command and the forward slash) A window will open saying that you cant run a disk check because it`s already in use etc. It will ask you if you want to schedual a disk check the next time you start your computer, type Y

Now restart your computer and the disk check will run.

As for uninstalling Norton, look HERE

Yes I am.
Even when double click on programs installed in safe mode they don't work in normal mode, send error report to windows ppl keeps popping up. Same send windows error pops up when installing or uninstalling. Says error in my Nvidia driver but thats false.

Have tried all reg cleaner programs, all spybot, adaware, xoft etc...
all in normal and safe mode and still have the same problem.

Pls help.
