Hello, I am new to posting so please forgive my communication method.

I have a Older Sony Vaio notebook where various keys (6, delete, hyphen, and others) are no longer working, but most of the keys on the board do work. I did a net-conference with a Sony technician who told me just to take it to a professional and pay for a repair - I would like to avoid.

Is there any advice, guides, or manuals on how to troubleshoot the problem?

    Thanks

    Dan

    Welcome to TechSpot

If you can do a bit of DIY and also work with a soldering iron, you could try and get individual keys for your laptop, or replace the whole keyboard yourself.
Have a look at the spares available here: www.laptopspares.com (in the UK)
