Is this the same as the"Blaster" virus that the local media is talking about? I hope it is, or is there another lurking out there?
I have no Anti-Virus, I have heard good & bad about installing this, or should I just install the latest large Service Pack?

Its usual for a security vulnerability of this magnitude to wind up being exploiting in a virus of some sort. The thing to do is to keep your machine up to date with patches, up to date with virus scanning software, and up to date with the latest build of a personal firewall.

    yes its advisable that you:
    - get a good ANTI-VIRUS software with the latest VIRUS definitions
    - Install a FIREWALL to prevent intrusions
    - Get the latest patches for the WINDOWS version you use.

And above all - Keep ur eyes and be careful not to invite the VIRUS into your PC :)
