Few months back, while using "system restore", my PC crashed and is unable to boot; I get "NTDLR is missing" message.

Because of this I got a new PC but would still like to repair old one as most of my work documents and important files are still on it.

Is there any way I can repair it and still get to keep all the files currently on the hard drive?

Thank you.

Thanks Howard!

I've got a problem though - haven't got the XP CD 'cause, you may know, they don't give them out in England!?

I bought my PC at 'PC World' and when I asked for a copy of XPCD they said that they don't normally give these out as it would add another £100-150 on top of what people had to pay for PCs...

Is there any other way?

You'll need to obtain a Windows XP CD. Should it be from a store, friend or the internet, if you want to get this machine up and running. Otherwise, you can always take the drive out of the old machine and put it in the new one as a slave and retrieve your data that way.
