i have sansui vhs recorder which is from united states. and i am living in india. we have different signals.
when i start my vcr, after tuning i view black and white channels with no audio. when i start recording it captures very bad black and white frames with no audio.
if i play ntsc movies it work great. but pal movies did not response.
please tell me can i convert my ntsc vhs recorder to pal vhs recorder. is there any chance of working it in india or not.

Unless there is a switch or something to display either NTSC or PAL, that is unlikely.
It would be cheaper to buy a PAL VCR, or get a TV that can display both.
However, you cannot record on your Sansui in India, only playback NTSC-tapes.

U.S. 110Vac/60Hz......India:230Vac/50Hz.
Is there a switch on the mains input to allow for the change?

I'd go with RBS suggestion...buy a PAL vcr and if you can get a good deal from your locall electrical store buy a dual system (ntsc/pal) tv as well. Then when your friends come over from the states to visit with their home movies you can play their ntsc tapes in your reducdant NTSC vcr on your dual system tv.
I don't know what the price of a vcr is in India...but here they are dirt cheap.
