Numonyx announces phase-change memory products

  1. Intel's memory joint venture with STMicroelectonics, and future Micron acquisition, Numonyx, today announced two new phase-change memory (PCM) products aimed at replacing DRAM and NOR memory used in PCs and other consumer devices. The new embedded memory chips will be marketed under the Omneo brand as a "one-device solution" that will offer write speeds 300 times faster than flash, along with ten times more write endurance.
