NVIDIA 3D scrolling problem

I recently reformatted my hard drive, and ever since that time, my 3D video games either have no 3D figures whatsoever OR have a scrolling horizontal bar on the screen. Drivers are all correctly installed, but I do get a directX 7 error when I run dxdiag. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

AMD Athlon, 995 MHz
512 Mb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce Ti 4200 with AGP8X

what games do you play, and what is the dx7 error? you should probably update your directx also. i dont know what your card can handle, but directx 9.0c is the current version.................

I play EA sports NASCAR THUNDER 2003 (no cars appear), SPIDERMAN, and NHL 2003 (scrolling effect). All these games worked fine with this video card before the reformat.

The directX shows that the direct draw test were all succesful and the directX 8 and 9 were also succesful. The error is showing under the directX 3D 7 : Failure at step 32 (user verification of direct 3D rendering): HRESULT=0x00000000 (error code).

Do I need to uninstall other versions of directX, and if so, how do I do this?

Thanks!
