Nvidia says "PC is far superior" to any console gaming platform

Some of the blatant console fanboy-ism is just too much. Like Guest above.

"Consoles have better gameplay than PC, all you care about is graphics." Please, tell me more how: Minecraft didn't re-invigorate a whole genre; 64+ player FPS matches are worse than 32 players; how a couple console-esclusive AAA games are better than the huge swathe of PC-exclusive AAA's (not counting all indies); etc. I could go on.

PC is more powerful - fact. If you have more power, you can increase graphics AND gameplay tenfold.

I'm a firm believer that 'Consoles' were at their best about 10+ years ago. Since then they have morphed into an 'expensive, under-powered, social driven jails of crap' all with different ideas of what up and coming standards are going to be. Connectivity options are very limited, space and heat are a concern, playable content is really locked down unless your buying something from yet another 'online content market' (as if we dont have enough of those already) by another 'closed off provider' because all your favorite films or tv shows or game studios are either tied into contracts with certain companies or have certain preferences over how they would like to provide their exclusive content and who too. The whole model is a dam mess and I hope these consoles fail, epically fail.

I wasn't impressed with the last bout of consoles either, always missing basic stuff that I got back in my glory days when I built my last Athlon FX (Single Core) rig. I could do everything in one device with the freedom to obtain and use the information on it from anywhere, which was whoever gave the best price. You don get that any more. These types of business models are all about 'We re-sell current software and hardware solutions as new, innovative and bespoke ideas, no one else can provide you with these solutions, you'll want it so bad we're going to make you queue outside in the cold and rain, you'll be the envy of all the kids on the street with our new product'....

Anything you think you can do on a console this gen, falls far short of what can be achieved simply using a computer of a similar specification, which is really unfortunate as this wouldn't cost very much. You think these next gen consoles are powerful? Serious gamers, spend serious cash, on serious hardware, most of these machines are 2-3x more powerful than THIS generations new consoles and we (PC Gamers) need to put up with crappy ports because everyone is on the console band-wagon. These boxes are just holding us back and they will be for how long? Another 5+ years? until these companies decide to design a new console again based on technologies that already exist at that point in time and aren't even 'Leading Edge'? Cant wait....

I'm really glad I've just build myself another new machine. I can keep it as cool as my wallet can allow, have as much space on there to keep content I've been hoarding and grew attached to for years and years and it will literally play anything. Not to mention I can upgrade it, fairly cheaply as time goes on. 4K Gaming is around the corner, and I cannot wait to play games on those types of resolutions and I know for a fact that even though both new consoles can play 4k gaming (Well its all talk and no action yet but...), at what cost will this happen? I want max detail at 4k and nothing short of 60fps (That might be difficult with an uber pc though ;) ) and you just aren't going to get that with these new consoles. That's going to be the new ones after these and I am not waiting 5+ years again.

Look at this as an example: cdn.pcper.com/files/imagecache/article_max_width/news/2011-09-22/games4.png - That chart is two years old also.

Do yourself a favor (and us PC Gamers as well), go out, spend a little more money than they are asking for and really enjoy your machine, enjoy the freedom, the choice and the ability to upgrade it over time. Build it from scratch, cherish it and even overclock it a little when its time to do so and let the pc gaming market flourish again like it once was.

I apologize for that, its just flowing from me once I start and had to break it up!

Since time to time, Nivida and Amd been in war on graphic technology so I believe that Nivida been pissed cause they not been choose to involded console war. I think there are reason AMD took the advantage by processor and graphic merged in one chip plus know for cheap cost. Nivida know for speed and expensive which look at device called Sheild cost pretty too high. So their strategy to pull everyone away from consoles. Now as I see what difference between both, PC are strong for single player and online, Consoles great for sports like football which able to give 4 player in same room and yes for stong online game too. Some pro and cons in between those.
