Nvidia Shield delayed until July due to 'mechanical issue'

  1. Stop holding your breath, Nvidia announced today that Shield won’t be coming tomorrow as was previously announced last week. In addition to the QA hangup, last week they also reduced the price by $50, from $349 to $299.

    That's just their way of saying "we're not sure of it's success because it's still $250 too much".

    Maybe... but I believe them. This is the first product like this for Nvidia and it's a new idea too. They need to get it right. Plus, it's not like they have some competition's device coming out soon that they need to hurry for. A couple weeks delay is better than a fiasco like Apple's Maps app that was released too soon. Especially if they plan on making a shield 2 and 3.

    Maybe they're adding a trackball for mouse-like aiming.

    Mechanical issues before leaving the lab. Seems their engineered failure backfired before anyone could actually pay for them.
