Odd Entry in win.ini file [-1236370804]

  1. I had a virus and used the Legendary Clean up procedure and the machine is now "clean." However, in looking for spyware etc. I came across an entry in my win.ini file and I can find no reference to it. It is:

    [-1236370804]
the sub listing is a long number
    -1418578068631463665=1070273589

Can you provide any information about it. Malicious? innocent? What?
May I delete it. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Doug

It's difficult to say, there are many varied drivers that this could be any of them. (ie I searched too, and found nothing!)

To be safe, you could save a backup to MyDocs as WinINI-OLD.txt
Then restart sysedit and remove the entry and also heading [-1236370804] save it, and then restart. Then check all hardware and programs works.

You may want to create a new system restore point too- before doing this.

By the way, I don't have it in mine.
    Also it's not spyware.
