Odd things with rundll32.exe and IE

Hi all,
I am having some issues with rundll32.exe, in task manager it says there is about 8 open, I am having issues with iexplorer.exe too, there are quite a few iexplorer.exe processes running, but IE isn't open, in fact, I can't get it to open. I just a fresh install so it is unlikely to be a virus. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, the performance decrease is causing quite a few problems when I am trying to study.

rundll32.exe: 'Run Direct Link Library (32 Bit)' is used by many programs in Windows, and can therefore have many instances in TaskManager running.

Please download Startup Control Panel and untick (disable) as many startups as possible (ie nearly all, except AntiVirus)

Also run CCleaner to remove all temp files (this will help IE)

Restart and check Task Manager again
