Hi. I built a computer from this barebones kit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16856167009

The mobo is an MSI K9N6SGM-V with onboard LAN.

But I've tried to have it detected in ubuntu, windows xp and with a few utilities that are on the ultimate boot cd. Nothing detects it. I've went into the BIOS and made sure the Onboard LAN option was enabled but it didn't help.

This is my first build so it's possible I've overlooked something that should be obvious. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

No but a CD was included in the package. I guess I should try that. Will I need a separate set of drivers for each OS that I use?

I would have thought so, but im not sure as i only use xp. The best thing to do is have a look and see what MSI have available.

Yeah I installed the driver from the CD that was provided and got it working on windows. Then I booted into ubuntu linux and browsed the CD and found the linux drivers but couldn't install them because "make" isn't installed on ubuntu. :( Anyways, I guess that's a question for a linux forum. :) Thanks.
