    hi,

i'm trying re-install the drivers needed for my onboard sound to work, but i'm having big problems. i downloaded what i thought was the correct driver, installed it, but it didn't work, so i uninstalled it, but now everytime windows finds the multimedia audio controller device at startup, it tries to automatically install this bad driver, which restarts the computer. is there a way to permanently get rid of it? and does anyone know the correct driver i need for the device? it was originally listed as a C-Media AC97 audio device, but now (i guess because of the bad driver) it's listed as a VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller.

    thanks.
