i was checking out my new motherboard and when i was removing the latch from the processor slot and opening it, i accidentally touched the place where you put the processor with my finger, a lot.. i was frequently discharging myself on and altoids tin (that was on a huge metal shelf hope that works) so can anything bad happen from me touching that area. sure felt fragile when i did.

Touching a metal shelf is useless,if it`s not electrically grounded.

You should wear an Earth strap,or at least touch bare, earthed metal.

If your computer works next time you start it - no problem.

If it doesn`t work - problem. :unch: You should be Ok,though.

hmm if i do statically discharge would i be able to feel it like a shock or would i not even know until the next time i tried to use my computer?

Unless you had been rolling around on a woollen rug,you wouldn`t feel any static discharge,
but could still damage chips.

ah damn, i hope nothing happened. i won't find out until i get my new psu comes in.
