Optical Mouse Lock Up?

Lately I've been having troubles with my Logitech Optical Mouse. It's been locking up on me, I've tried everything and I can't get it to unlock and the batteries aren't dead. Can anyone help?

Try unplugging it, and plugging it back in. Does the optical light actually turn off?

if it is the MX700, use the provided PS/2-USB adapter and plug it into the PS/2 mouseport. (switch the PC off before you change this).
I have the same mouse, and find that it operates best using PS/2.

If you are using PS/2 already, plugging it into a USB-2 port temporarily usually helps to get it un-blocked.

Oh, hahaha! I should have said it's Cordless, sorry it was late and I was tired so I was in a hurry. Sorry about that, anyway yeah it just locks up! But the light is still on.
