Hey guys im currently running windows 8 on my HP ENVY DV7 and everytime I open a program, browser or application it immediately minimizes and reverts to the desktop. And when I am typing in a text box it will exit the box then reselect the text highlighted causing it to of course erase. Anyhelp would be greatly aappreciated as it has made a 2000 dollar pc virtually useless.

That is an amusing problem, sorry 
Do you have access to another working machine? The best test for hardware vs OS is a live linux cd/dvd/usb. I would make one of those and boot from that, if the problem still exists it is hardware. Otherwise it is a software problem.
There may be other ways to diagnose this, but doing that will immediately tell us some important information.
