hey guys, i just installed Splinter Cell Chaos Theory DVD-R on my computer (Intel Pent4, 1G RAM, Sapphire ATI 512 GFX, 2.4 GHX)

and it installed fine but when i click the play the game button my computer dies :dead: and shows this error message:

Windows encountered an error and needed to shut down to protect your computer

System32:1zx32.sys


i was wondering if any1 has any idea on how to fix this problem thx!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I have moved your thread to our security and the web forum.

Your system is infected with a rootkit.

Download and run this TOOL.

Then, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.


Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Blue screen of death

I had the same problem you had with a game, every time I clicked on it the computer would shut off windows to the blue screen. I ran that superspy software and it cured it. After two weeks with working with every other cleaner on the planet. Trouble was 1xz32.sys bad stuff, A root killer I understand. Glad you had the problem first otherwise I never would of found a fix.
