Packard Bell Imedia 5137 No Sound

Hi anyone out there know what sound driver the 5137 uses? My son in law recently purchased a second hand one and replaced the operating system with windows xp home. Before the reformat he had sound now he has no sound. There is a yellow exclamation mark over the multimedia sound controller icon in the device manager. He says he has been unable to pin down the exact driver he needs. So far he has tried a variety of drivers with no success. Unfortunately I live too far away to experiment. Think If we can identify the proper sound driver we'll get somewhere , any ideas?
