Over a years worth of BSOD's... all caused by a failing Nvidia video card or outdated video driver. Is the inside of the computer clean and free of dust and other debris? Is there a video card installed or is it on-board video?

Hey Tmagic,

There's a Nvidia Geforce 7100 in it.
I just tried updating the drivers and during the restart (normal mode) it crashed again with the same BSOD.
I'll open the computer up and clean it out + unplug/replug everything.
Do you think it's the Videocard causing the BSOD ?

Ok, so I opened the pc...
And it was horribly full of dust and spiderwebs...
Cleaned everything out, and also noticed the videocard was from Asus.
I think an Nvidia 7500LE.
So I think the wrong video driver might have been installed.
I'll have to wait for tomorrow to check it out tough, cause my parents are on vacation and I don't know they're password :(

Thanks for pointing out the Videocard cause I think it might be the culprit ! (y)

Yes, clean the PC out good. Make sure that the 7500LE's fan is clean and running normally...

Ok so,

I cleaned out the videocard (even tough it had no fan, just this metal casing).
I deleted the drivers and reinstalled the drivers.
It still didn't work. BSOD on startup.
Then I removed the videocard and used my Onboard Videocard.
And I'm still getting the BSOD...?

Damnit. Maybe it isn't the videocard after all :(

Ok some good news !

I tried to update the drivers from the onboard videocard, And the computer started up normaly.
It's been running for a half hour now. Lets hope it stays stable now !

Still have a question regarding to the videocard (7500LE) that I removed.
Do you think this videocard should be trown away ?
Or should I put it back in and try if it stills works.
Because I think the onboard videocard caused the bsod.
So the original still might be working...
But I don't want to mess it up now that it's running stable.

When I Googled the 7500LE it showed cards with fans, but different manufacturers have different configurations. The bios first video device should be set for PCI when on-board is used, and PCIe for the 7500LE

Ok thanks, I'll configure that in the BIOS then.
it's this one

Never knew there where VGA's without fans :p

So everything was working fine.
Until a NET FRAME update took place.
the pc crashed and it went into repair mode.
So I restored the pc back to the point before the update.
Don't really know what to do here...

And if I want to insert the 7500E back in the pc, do I have to install the drivers first ?

Yes, that ASUS EN7500LE is a low cost PCIe video card, and you usually install the drivers after the card is installed. What bios options for first video device do you have?

I can't seem to find any configs in BIOS to set the 7500LE to PCIe.
I just tried to put it back in the pc again, and it loaded till the desktop but then it crashed again.

So I restored it back to 2 days ago. And its running normal.
I don't really mind if the VGA card isn't installed, cause my parents just use the computer for browsing on the internet. So I guess the onboard card is good enough.

I'm already very happy its running normaly.

But as I said. I have some issues with the updates. (many updates cause its been running on Saffemode for a year)

When I install them, the computer needs to restart. but after the restart it crashes again..

Any chances you could help me with this ? thx

If it runs okay in Safemode, a driver is causing the computer to crash when it is in normal mode. The 7500 may just be bad. Can you update to Windows 7? Vista sucks as an OS, and always has

I don't really know. Is it free to update to 7 ? :D
If it cost's to much I don't think my parents want to pay for it.

Not free, but can be gotten for around $79. You will need a Vista install disk anyway, to be able to re-install Vista fresh

I think I'm gonna leave it the way it is, without the 7500 installed. Cause it's running okay. (except after windows updates)
And figure out witch update is currently causing the BSOD.
Its gonna take a while cause there's over 50...
But I guess it's the only option.
I think the topic can be closed as solved. The biggest issue is gone, witch was the videocard.
I'll try and figure the update problem out myself. And if I can't solve it, You'll be hearing from me soon :D

Anyway, thanks allot for your help ! Now my mom can finally watch her cheesy series !

Greetings.
