  1. Hello- i am building a new comp with amd3800 and asus a8n sli that will accomodate win 64 bit when it comes out.

i have a 300 gb sata seagate barracuda.

can i get suggestions for how big / how small to make first partition for windows xp pro, and in the future win pro 64 bit? thanks.

    see my coments at http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic32511.html

64bit processor/software will not have a major impact on the HD, other than
a partition and pagefile being too small (which impacts all systems).

Split the HD into two or three pieces and you'll do fine.

with a 300 gig, you can safely make 10 gigs for each OS. You can actually get by on much smaller, but 10 is a pretty safe zone, and you wont' lose much doing it that way with a 300 gig.
