Okay so I recently installed my brand new 320GB hard drive to Windows XP Pro edition. For some reason once it was installed I was showing a 127GB boot partition and 170GB of Unallocated Space.

So to solve said problem I downloaded Partition Magic 8.05 so that I could merge the partitions, seeing as you can't do that on the fly otherwise, from my knowledge. Now I tried making a partition and deleting the volume. Whether it's a partition with a name (i.e. F: drive) or just unallocated space, Partition Magic refuses to believe it's there.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Isnt this something to do with XP not seeing drives over a certain size, unless you install Service Pack 2.

I thought that was the problem as well but I'm running XP SP2, so I'm at a loss.
