Partition magic

i would like to create new partition in my hard disk and am using the partition magic software, well i already have some data in that hard disk. my question is will i loose this data while am creating new partition?

I would always back up a drive I am about to mess with.

Such software should provide safety of data. But I advice you to copy all you data to the external storage.
