I need to partition my hard disk, which already contains Windows XP Home Edition SP2. I want to install Fedora Core 3 Linux, so I need to partition but I don't know how or which program to get. This is especially complicated for me because I don't have a floppy disk drive because I am on a Lap Top. Are there any FREE programs out there that will let me partition my hard drive so I can have room to install Linux? I do have a spare Hard Drive, but I don't know how to put it into a laptop.

You should read the Dual boot instrctions for Fedora carefully . The installation program will perform all of partitioning for you .
I recommend you do a full backup of your Windows first.
