Passive Heatsink on northbridge controller.. (ASUS P4PE)

G'day people!
I've got a ASUS P4PE motherboard and a few months ago the passive heatsink fell off the northbridge controller (just below the CPU), unfortunatly its impossible to fix it back on as the clips for the spings have been ripped off the motherboard (dodgy design). So far the computer has been running just fine, but i was wondering if, with the controller probably running a bit hotter, this would decrease the performace of the computer?
Thanks for any help!
