Inactive PC lagging a lot

Yeah, so last night my pc was completely fine....I have a vaio laptop....No matter what I click it just lags completely! PLEASE give me the solution to this problem, its running windows 7.

Brioni I actually have a Norton Internet security installed, although when I tried scanning with it... It started hanging....... Finally I ended up using it in safe mode and is now working in a normal condition.... What does this mean? Before after 5 minutes it used to hang and now it's fine

Yes, I gave it another day............I ended up buying a dell inspiron 3000 series, it was actually quite urgent............But I wanna know if we could still fix the old vaio e series 34en.............it's atleast 5 years old.......The problem is persisting......I ran startup repair and it told me recover my pc to an earlier time so I did that but its not helping. I don't know how but its running perfectly fine in safe mode...I copied all my data and transferred to my new dell using a portable hard disk.....I don't want to factory reset it because my antivirus would be wiped out and my 274 days remaining subscription would go to waste....Is there any reason this could be happening? If so why?

Did you disconnect it or there seem to be some issue with connection?

There seems to be an issue, when I diagnose it..........it says, "windows wireless system is not running on this computer"when I tried other forums they tell me to enable wlanconfig under services.msc been there done that doesn't work........it says, "This group or resurce does not respond or something~error 1628

Can you see if wired connection works (ethernet cable)?
